Teacher Markets for Writing

© Amy N. Thomas 2006-2007

Many teachers students ask me where they can publish their own stories, poems, artwork and classroom ideas. I've compiled this list of publishers who are looking for educator's work. By using this list as a starting point in your search, I hope that you find a home for your writing. Submission information can change often, and some magazines stop taking submissions. This information was current as of July 2006.

TIPS: Before sending items for consideration, type them in business format. Then look at the website and previous issues of magazines (check school and public libraries). Write a letter introducing yourself and telling why you are sending the manuscript or artwork. Be sure to follow the directions (submission guidelines) for each company.
